Farming Blog – How I Learn Growing My Own Crops
I first started out growing my own organic vegetables after coming across a farming blog and discovering the benefits or organic farming. I love the notion of growing my own crops in an eco-friendly manner and not have to spray intoxicating pesticides and chemicals on my soil and vegetables. I believe in karma -that if we treat mother nature well, she will reward us with a beautiful and clean environment to live in. I have a reasonably large plot of land and I practise polyculture. This refers to growing different species of crops so that different microbes and organisms will be attracted to create a balanced ecosystem and biodiversity. If I keep growing the same type of crops on the same area, the soil will be depleted of its nutrients. I also grow some cover crops to use them as green manure so that I can plough them later and incorporate them into the soil to enrich it with nutrients.
Lawn Mower Repair: Carburetor Removal
This is a continuation of lawn mower repair, carburetor removal. If you have drained the fuel and have closed the shutoff valve, you may want to remove the air filter as well. To loosen two screws, you need to use a large Philips screwdriver. You can reuse the gasket if it separates easily and cleanly though a dab of non hardening sealer is recommended after you have tested your lawn mower. This has to be done to be able to make sure that your newly restored carburetor works properly. Any torn, worn or damaged parts should be replaced with a new one. An open end wrench may be used and may be helpful if the bolts are really tightened, but the thing is the common sockets may not fit around the bottom bolt although thin walled sockets may work. You may now disconnect the throttle linkage and governor spring and the rubber tube from the primer bulb. Disconnect the speed control and also the stop switch wire as well.
